AREA DESCRIPTION

Tucked away on the Pacific Gold Coast between Playa Brasilito and Playa Potrero is Playa Flamingo, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Costa Rica. With white sand, crystal blue waiter and lush green scenery, Flamingo Beach is ideal for any tropical getaway. Quiet and peaceful, the area embodies the appeal of a small coastal community, without sacrificing the attractions of the more populated tourism areas. Only 45 minutes away from Liberia International Aiport (LIR) and 30 minutes away from Tamarindo Domestic Airport, arriving in Flamingo is easy. Flamingo has become a praised travel desitination as well as a home away from home for those searching for a simple way of life amidst beautiful scenery. In addition to stunning private residences and breath-taking beaches, the Flamingo area is home to a wide array of other alluring features...

CULTURE, FOOD & PEOPLE

Although a popular travel destination with an abundance of fine-dining and tourism, Costa Rica is still able to embrace its local culture. Wine and dine, surf and shop within the heart of Flamingo or Tamarindo, and then step out to Brasilito, Potrero or other surrounding towns to walk among cowboy country and enjoy tropical fruits and vegetables, authentic dishes and some of the best coffee in the world. You may find yourself amidst the night-life of Tamarindo one evening, and then within the heart of an authentic Costa Rican "fiesta", or rodeo, the next. Either way, you are sure to encounter some of the most friendly and genuinely happy people in the world who love to encourage you to slow down and embrace the "pura vida" lifestyle.

WEATHER

From the end of November to the end of April, also known as the "Dry Season," the weather of Guanacaste consists of cool ocean breezes and plenty of hot sunshine with temperatures hovering around 90°F (32°C). The "Green Season" usually begins in May, with a mix of sun, tropical rainfalls and magnificent lightning storms, and lasts through mid-November. The Green Season is briefuly interrupted in July by a period of lighter rainfalls known as "Veranito," or "Little Summer."

ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS

The Flamingo Marina is renown for offering some of the best deep sea sport fishing for sailfish, marlin, snapper, tuna, mahi-mahi and other game fish on the Pacific Coast. LA PAZ COMMUNITY SCHOOL & HOUSE OF RENTALS

La Paz Community School is a private, non-profit school that has humbly worked towards offering experiential, bilingual education to the culturally diverse youth of Guanacaste. Through significant reflection and implementation of current research on both bilingual and experiential learning, La Paz has managed to unite the community around a common goal of educating the children and young adults of the area. La Paz students, which represent over 20 nations worldwide, are encouraged to focus on the importance of preserving our natural resources while being responsible community members. With the addition of a secondary school and a pre-school, as well as the continuation of an already extraordinary primary school, La Paz thrives on donations in order to provide scholarships to those students that may not otherwise be able to attend. In a partnership with La Paz Community School, House of Rentals will donate a percentage of all rentals originating from our website to La Paz, as well as a percentage of any rental that comes as a referral from a member of the La Paz community.
